Member Event Descriptions

Listed below are brief descriptions of some of the Member events planned for this year. Please contact the Pro Shop for more information.

 

April 26th- New Member Mixer and Scramble

We invite all our returning members to come out and play with our new members of 2008.  We plan on pairing our veteran members with our rookie members to show them the ropes and all the little tricks you need to know about the course to have a successful round.  This is a nine-hole 2-person Scramble event.

 

May 2nd -Spring Stag *

This is a Friday afternoon event. The format is a 4-person shamble. A shamble is when all four players, in this case, tee off, you go to the best drive, then all four play your own ball to finish the hole and two of four scores will count. You will only get half of your handicap. Make your own foursome or we will pair you up.

 

May 10th – 2-Person Scramble *

Make your own teams or we will pair you up.

 

May 16-17th Men’s Invitational *

May 23rd - Couple’s Sundowner - CLUE

The first Sundowner of the year! This fun event will repeat last year’s successful “CLUE” theme.

 

May 26th Memorial Day Event

May 31st - Centennial Skills Challenge

How good do you think your golf skills are?  Well, here is your chance to prove it.   We are inviting both men and women to prove how good they are.  This event will have different flights based on your handicap and we will test your ability in different skill shots. We will be using the back nine for the event this year.

 

June 14th- 2-Person Alternate Shot *

Each team will alternate shots until holed out.

 

June 15th  – Fathers Day Event

June 20th – Couples Sundowner – WINE & NINE

This fun event for couples will feature a variety of wines and cheeses on each tee.

 

June 24th  Women’s Member-Member

This event is a team event.  You and another member will take on the rest of the field in a Net Best Ball event. If you and a friend believe you are the best team in the club, here is your chance to prove it. You may play on both dates.

 

June 28th – Stableford *

Classic Net Stableford format.

 

July 4th- Sundowner – Red, White & Blue

A Sundowner on the 4th of July!

July 22nd - 2 Person Best Ball *

This event is made up of two person teams in which you take the lowest net score of the two to count for your team score.

 

August 1st – Couples Sundowner – CARIBBEAN!

This fun event for couples will have a Caribbean theme.

 

August 9th - Men’s Match Play Finals *

Final matches in all flights followed by a shootout. See the Men’s Section for more details.

 

August 13th – Junior Club Championship

August 15-16th Club Championship *

See the Men’s Section for more details.

 

August 23rd - Mystery Event *

Instructions for playing each hole will be found on each tee.

 

August 26-28th - Senior Club Championship

The Men’s/Women’s Senior Club Championship is a stroke play event over 36 holes of golf.  The even is open to all men and women members who are 62 or older. The will be two age divisions. This event will crown a Gross Club Champion based on whoever has the lowest total score for 36 holes.  We will also crown a Net Club Champion.  This will be the player who has the lowest net score for 36 holes.  This event is a chance to prove that you are the best senior golfer in the club!

 

September 7th - Parent/Junior Event

September 13-14th Centennial Cup

September 19th – Couples Sundowner - GLOWBALL

Don’t miss the fun of playing golf in the dark!

 

September 21th – Couples Sunday Event

A Sunday afternoon event. This will be a 2-person Shamble.

 

October 4th - The Iron Man  

On a fine fall day, the sadists of the pro shop and greens crew will conspire against you all to make the course as difficult as inhumanely possible.  The tees will reach into the depths of the black zone, and the pin placements will all be tucked.  Centennial will never be any longer or tougher than on this day!  The event will be handicapped and flighted, to the victor goes the spoils; the low net winner will be declared the Centennial Iron Man and have his name forever affixed to the coveted Iron Man trophy.

 

October 18th – Couples Sunday Event

Color Tour Outing.
